Today was the day I was what ting for, luring how to make a characters mouth in Maya. I’ve always wanted to learn how to do this but it was either to hard or unclear what I was supposed to do. The entire day was taken up by Maya and was split up in two parts, the morning was rigging and in the afternoon as building a car model. I was interested in all this and knew it was ganna be hard, but i was ready for it.

3rd Day At Uni

Today I had my first theory lecture from Phil. I wasn’t looking forward to this because I really didn’t see the point of it and thought it was a waist of my time. But Phil makes the lectures good and sometimes funny and I liked that. The first thing he said was he didn’t like the fact that he had to give two lectures in two hours. He knew the human mind can only concentrate for 45minuts. It felt like and was most of the morning and didn’t get out until 1-ish. When I come out of there, I new this could be more interesting than last year.

2nd Day At Uni

Today we got are individual assignment, are Soundscape one. Phil has been on about this one project for a while, so it was nice to finally get our hands on it. The first thing we did was pick are 3 sounds we had to make. We had to make sounds for: environment, creature and movement. When I saw my creature I new I had to watch Jurassic Park and watch how they made their sounds. The other two I sorta knew where to look, but just finding them world be hard. For the Movement one I was going to look at the lord of the rings and for the environment I looked at sleepy hollow. Then we were introduced to a program that can distort sound. I looked at but when phill said some of the recording stuff was still not here then i new i had to use my dicktiphone for sounds. So i got my second project on the second day of uni, two projects on the go at the same time.

The Start Of My 2nd Year

Today was the first day back at college for me, and I was excited to get going and do some work. I reported to the base room at 2:30 and saw the new base room. Alan and Phil spent most of the summer doing it up, it looks much better than it did last year to tell you the truth. I got their and talk to Phil and some of my class mates about my and their summer before Alan took the class. The first thing that we did was Alan told all of us to stand up and got us into are selected groups, I’m in group one with Paul, Jonny and Leanne. After we all put into are groups, we had to take a brown envelope and what it had in it was are key image and are shonera of film. Paul picked are, we got sci-fi and are image was one person in a room full of stuff and loads of light bulbs. The we were told that we would be making a movie trailer and we were also told when we had to use the image as well. After Alan was done with us I asked Leanne & Paul if could meet in the canteen and get started on are project. We got up there and we knocked around some idea and what films we could look into for ideas. The first thing we had to do was make a power point presentation for the following Tuesday and we had to talk about are style of film.
